Some people make low levels of the chemical which confirms the pregnancy (Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin) so they dont show up in the urine until much later than normal. A blood test would show up much lower levels of HCG than the urine test ...;

A blood test could still determine that you are pregnant. But think back to the last time you had intercourse, does the time line make sense? If not then just go talk to a doctor, you may be going through some stress right now that is causing your body to go all out of whack, or it could be something else health related. Or it could be if you've put on some weight rather quickly recently, that can also affect your cycle. Theres lots of reasons women can miss a period, go talk to a doctor, get a blood test and find out for sure.

A few other things to consider: I've heard of people who have had their periods when they were pregnant, I've also heard of people like my friend who had three negative urine tests for pregnancy and found out at the doctor that she was pregnant... 8 weeks seems like a long time to go without your period... have you checked out when you could have ovulated and had sex and if the two correlate? I'd get a blood test, better to be on the safe side if we're dealing with a baby!!

A blood test would be able to tell. I would definitely go to a doctors office though, you could be pregnant or something could be wrong. It can be normal to miss one period for no reason but it's not good to miss two in a row if you aren't pregnant.
