Injury was pretty severe. Had to have a hematoma drained. It happened the end of October and leg still swells. Wants me to wear compression stocking.
Why?

It sounds to me like the tissues and possibly the lymph nodes were damaged and you are stuck with a condition called lymphedema. It could be a direct result of the injury to the area or it could be indirect meaning you might have been prone to lymphedema to start with and the trauma brought it forth. Compression stockings are recommended for lymphedema, venous insufficiency and other problems where there is fluid, congestion. I would ask the doctor about lymphedema because if it is true lymphedema as a result of the injury, it is for life and you will always swell so you want to get treatment right away to minimize it so it does not ever get out of control. Lymphedema can also be a factor in blood clots and vice versa so best to get a true, accurate diagnosis. If you are diagnosed with it, let me know and I can help you, refer you to a certified therapist to treat you and so forth.

minimal "incompetency", incompetency is stupidity. incompetent is stupid.

Minimal inconsistency is damage to skin and surrourding tissues. This can lead to devlopment of hematoma or blood clot.

Compression stockings are to reduce blood clot formation.

I know the word minimal. And I know the word incompetency. I don't think he was counting on you putting those two words together.

One time I called a tech support hotline for my computer, and they told me my biggest problem was the faulty equipment between my monitor and chair.

Maybe my tech support guy went on to be your doctor.

that doesnt make any sense because minimal means the lowest possible and incompetency means the inability to understand something. maybe you got the phrase wrong?
