She can afford to buy herself ANYTHING, and my income is nowhere near hers. What's something that will not break MY bank, but let her know how great I think she is.

If you cook -

Try putting together some vegetarian recipies that you know. Print them out on the computer and have hand written notes throughout it that give thoughts on the recipies. -- This is definitely a one of a kind gift

If you craft -

Make her a small photo album of you two doing things together from past get togethers. Write a small note for each one of your memories from each pic. You can also include a letter to her about why you thinks she's a great friend. Again it's something she really can't buy, but would really appreciate the thought and effort.

A lot of vegetarians really like home grown herbs to season their food with -- You could get her the seeds and a paint her a pretty flower pot, or go to a garden store where you could get her some rosemary (it's a wonderful perrennial). This time of year they have it trimmed to look like Mini Christmas trees. Again enclose something you've written her about why you are glad she's your friend.

I hope these ideas help.

Nice-looking salad accessories: salad bowl, salad utensils (that big fork and spoon; I forget what they're called), salad dressings, maybe the Paul Newman brand.

In fact, I think you can find a set of fancy salad dressings in some of your local stores. Try Target or a drug store.

You might also get her a video or DVD of the original 1970s cartoon Charlotte's Web, along with the novel, in which Charlotte the Spider tries to save Wilbur the Pig from the butcher's block. Or you can give her tickets to the current live-action movie playing in theaters.

If she's an activist, she'd probably love a video of Super Size Me or Fast Food Nation.

well first buying things for xmas isn't about how much you spend.

second, how you we figure out the type of things she'd like just because she's a vegetarian? what are her other interests?

if she is very into animals donate money to a cause in her name that saves an animal, etc. or if she is active in volunteering, volunteer to go with her somewhere sometime.

make her a vegetarian meal, take her to a vegetarian restaurant.

go to a vegetarian website or PETA and get her something from them.

My father is a huge animal rights person and can have anything he wants. I spent 100 bucks to support dolphins and them send him a card and a thank you from them.

If you really think she is neat have a star named after her 25 bucks.

hope this helps

Well, don't her her vegetables! lol What does she love to do? How does she enjoy relaxing? Find her hot spots, the things she loves and get things that tie into them. A favorite author, tickets to a play, gift card to her favorite boutique...... you get the idea.
You can always buy her a massage at her favorite therapist or
day spa.
