What operating system?
98, 2000, XP Home or XP pro?

There are a lot of possibilities.
Bad hardware. (network card, Cables, routers)
Bad software (driver conflicts)

**XP Home** The Domain password is not linked to the local account, so you could have a differnet password on each.
Ask you Network Administrator to reset your domain user account password, then change your password on the XP home machine to match the network password.

XP Pro, Can your computer get on the internet?
If not run the repair utility for your network connection, then check your network cable or have your network administrator check your hardware.

Good Luck.
