I live a few block away from my parents. They have a high-speed connection and a wireless router hooked up. I'm probably just out of their wireless range, how could we boost the range and with what equipment? What equipment will I need for my Dell PC to receive and use their wireless connection?

You could try a range expander. Here are some from linksys, but you could use the brand that you have now..good luck..

if its a few blocks away you are way out of range. They typical wireless router is only going to send a signal 300 feet. You are just going to be able to see your immediate neighbors and nothing from that far away.
