Yes, but not through any human agency.

When on earth, Jesus spoke much of his Heavenly Father's Kingdom. Most people pray for that government to take over the earth in the model prayer or Lord's Prayer--as it states "thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

While on earth Jesus showed the power of that Kingdom he represented, by his teaching, conduct, miracles, & other grand qualities.

He stated a distinct difference between the world's "peace process"--and his magnaminous peace.

Please note this text:

(John 14:26-27) “26 But the helper, the holy spirit, which the Father will send in my name, that one will teach YOU all things and bring back to YOUR minds all the things I told YOU. 27 I leave YOU peace, I give YOU my peace. I do not give it to YOU the way that the world gives it. Do not let YOUR hearts be troubled nor let them shrink for fear. . .”
Please not in vs. 27 --he gives peace not the way the world gives it.
This higher quality of peace is just that peace it does not have to prosessed.
It indeed is of the greatest nature, that of Holy Spirit. No not the holy spirit the churches talk about in many of the forms they have given it.

According to the Bible it is God's Active Force, the greatest energy in the universe. Genesis 1:1-3

(Genesis 1:1-2) “1 In [the] beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth proved to be formless and waste and there was darkness upon the surface of [the] watery deep; and God’s active force was moving to and fro over the surface of the waters.”*** Footnote ***

Rbi8 Genesis 1:2

***“And . . . active force (spirit).” Heb., weru´ach. Besides being translated “spirit,” ru´ach is also translated “wind” and by other words that denote an invisible active force. See 3:8 ftn, “Breezy part”; 8:1 ftn.

Also, this is the same Holy Spirit(Active Force, not person)that planted the seed of Jesus into Mary's womb, the same Holy Spirit that gave Samson his strength, the same Spirit that parted the Red Sea, that gave power to Christ to enact his miracles-etc.

Inteestingly also along with peace the following qualities emanate from the workings of Holy Spirit--note please:

(Galatians 5:22-24) “22 On the other hand, the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, 23 mildness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Moreover, those who belong to Christ Jesus impaled the flesh together with its passions and desires.”

So then the Government that insists on these qualities having to be practiced will also enforce them, that is an intervention from that Heavenly Government, God's Kingdom.

Now if we have a Magnamous God , His Son, The Heavenly Kingdom, the Holy Angels , and people who have survived, the God ordained Armaggedon & co-operating as best as they can in their imperfect state--there are some strong possibilites that, yes indeed total peace will triumph on this earth. Something to think about.

Yes, total peace already has been previously achieved on planet Earth. About eight hundred million years ago it was a giant snowball devoid of life.

No, people are idiots. There will always be some ****** messing things up for those around him/her. But what creates an ******? Possibly suffering.. Maybe the solution is to end suffering. I'd place my bet on Neuroscience. Those with an understanding of how the human mind works will best understand how war is caused. Create ways to short circuit pain itself, were already on the way with anti-depressants. This could lead to a brave new world which wouldn't have to rely on religion to feel content, or kill their neigbors to settle disputes over land, or just plain take advantage of one another.

sure, each human being needs peace. yet commonly on their words. Your assertions look a operating example. you may have peace in case you word it my way. by using how, the gospel of Luke isn't a secret. neither is it familiar as infallible, even with the truth that some carry that concept. It became reading the bible that went some distance in route of creating me an atheist. A "leap of religion"? properly it truly is efficient! fairly functional. dedicated Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus all have self belief. faith is non-directional. each enthusiast who has ever lived has made a leap of religion. It would not propose they were precise.

Oh man, I wish! But I don't think so. Not as long as the human race exists anyway. It's just not in our nature. Someone always wants what somebody else has and is willing to do anything to get it, even if it means annihilating entire species, races or countries. Or just robbing and murdering someone on the street.

Eliminate Wealth, discrimination, violence, hate, war, hell and religion. When all of this is gone, then and only then can we achieve the peace we want.

define "total peace"
Historically, during peaceful times, somebody was still being oppressed and biding his/her time to get back at the oppressors
