I am a lighter tanned skin Black women but I like to keep it neutral but shimmery during the day- golds, bronze, copper and clear glosses work well. I wear glasses at work, so I ease up on the Black eyeliner and mascara but a little goes a long way. At night you should try a deep purple, navy blue or gray eyeshadow and Black mascara and liner. For blushes, Mix and try cover girls Cheekers Blushes, they're only 3 bucks so its not a big investment. Milani cosmetics are reasonable and have deep rich pigment colors. Wear what you like. Or if you want a lot of help, go to Sephora stores and play in there. Their salespeople know a lot about colors and textures. Good luck!

LOL well since I look just like you, I should say that I swear by Mary Kay. The tones look much more natural, and you only need to use a teeny-tiny bit. I use it all the time, and most people don't know I even wear makeup at all...and that was exactly my goal. I wear glasses too, and I usually brush a reddish-copper toned blush on my eyelids, followed by a touch of liner or mascara. On my lips is just a sheer gloss...black girls have nice thick lips, we don't really need lipliner!! In the end you'll look polished, but not at all overdone.

M.A.C... they are great for African American women. I and all of my friends use them. In some malls they have the own free standing stores and in some they have a counter in department stores.
If you do a search M.A.C cosmetics I'm sure you find a website for them.
If you are not used to makeup I wouldn't start off heavy...
I've been wearing make for sometime now and all i wear is blush, mascara and sheer lip gloss.. it quick and easy.
Since you are already brown toned..don't do alot of brown. Stay in the goldish/bronzy and add some light color. the idea is to appear like you don't have on make up not to appear made up. You got me... to look fresh and clean.
Hope I have helped some what.

Smokey eyes!! Take a black eye liner and draw a line from the middle of your upper lid to the edge of your eye and flick it upward a little ( think Japanese Geisha) Then smudge that upward using light pressure until you get to your crease. Take the same color eyeshadow and go on your crease and in the corner near your flick of liner. Blend well. Highlight just under your brow bone with a shimmery light pink or beige. Mascara and a nude glossy lip and you are lucious!!

I'm trained but I have no way to get to you so...Go to a department store and have a skin test done . They have trained people there to help you with the right products. Sometimes they have to try different colors on to get the one that is right for you. Good luck and Merry Christmas.

My moms friend she works with buys her foundation only at Ulta. So go to Ulta and they will color match you. Yes you can wear eyeshadow, I would recomend a gold shimmer with a black brush inwards, kind of like your blending them together.

Put some nice tanish blush around your cheek bones, some black massacre, and a pink lipstick with clear shiny lip gloss to top it off.
