i've been placing ads for 3 days (approx. 14 hours). not one response. any suggestions

Well, there are so many parameters at stake. Online may not get you anything at all. You need to consider tons of stuff like;
1- How relevant is your message?
2- Where are these ads posted
3- Where do the ads take potential clients
4- What is the message
5- Is the design good or not
Advertising online should not have a delayed effect if you are offering a good product at a good rate. Maybe u should examine the above and change your campaign

You should see results within 6-12 hours.
If you don't, then you need to test your ad.
Focus on emotional direct response copywriting.
