I am not a rich man. My friends know this.
I go to aucitons and but things there. When things get really tight I make peanut butter brittle dipped in chocolate. Take a dremmel and sculpt something nice into a greenware vase, glaze and fire it. Looks great, people are happy to get it because it looks like a priceless thing from one of the old Ohio potteries.

What you can afford..... Don't worry about an average amount. If people don't like what you can afford, then they shouldn't be getting a gift from you in the first place.

It depends on who the gift is for:
Like for my parents I spend anywhere from $50.00 - $100.00 usually not a $100.00 but it may come close to that amount on each of them.
For 2 of my nieces this year I spent around $50.00 on each of them. (I get along with them and there parents)
But then for my other 2 nieces and 3 nephews I didn't spend anymore than $10.00 on each of them. (I don't get along with there parents)
and then my boyfriend and I set an amount to spend on each other and this year it was $200.00
I don't know if this helped you or not but I tried!!!

It depends on your budget. Take whatever you have alotted for gifts, then make a list of people you want to get a gift for. ( say you have $500.00 and 20 people, divide 500 by 20= $25 per gift.)

that depends on who the gifts are for....you are obviously going to spend more on immediate family and loved onens thatn on cousins, so your question should be, how much is an average amount to dpend on "fill in the blank"

Friends: $10 - $30
Family: $30 - $50
That special someone: $50 - $250

well, since i'm only fourteen, unemployed, and rarely have any money that exceeds a two digit number, I'd say about 10 dollars is the limit. For ME atleast.
