Thanks for all the replies before. I talked about how people have told me, or let me know that they've noticed an odor on me, well I just wanted to mention that these comments never happened until I started suffering from chronic constipation. So I am almost 100% sure that the const. is causing the odor. Also, when i am actually able to 'go', i feel so much better, more clear, i have more energy, notice fresher breath & i notice the odor is reduced. I'm currently married to a wonderful guy and we are expecting our first child. Now that i am pregnant, my chronic const. has tripled. So I guess what my ? should've been was, Does anyone have any natural safe remedies for severe constipation DURING pregnancy? I've tried:
Prune juice (only thing that does the trick most times)
Flaxseeds (just started adding to diet, don't know if they're working)
Fiber One cereal for breakfast (usually no effects)
Olive Oil (just read about this, haven't tried - Is it safe during pregnancy?) Thanks.

Milk Of Magnesia worked for me. I've been chronically constipated my entire life, and when I got pregnant, that was the only thing that was effective.

Once you've reached the fourth month, the constipation eases a bit during the second trimester. Seriously.

Talk to your doc. There are all kinds of things that you can take when you're pregnant for constipation, and most all of them work.

You don't want to go overboard on treating the constipation as over-stimulating your bowel can cause labor. But, on the other hand, constipation is something you need to control. Try drinking more juice and lots of water. Eat leafy greens and bran muffins. The flax seeds and prune juice will help. Don't go over-board on the prune juice though. I would definitely talk to your doctor. Constipation is serious especially if you become impacted. I wouldn't try too many treatments without talking to your doctor. Fiber and lots of water is the key to getting rid of the constipation. The odor also might go away if you drink more water. Avoid caffiene if you aren't all ready. Also, try eating more fruit. Variety is good. Hope that helps.

Olive oil is safe, also try drinking MORE WATER. You won't hurt anything by drinking water. One of the main causes of constipation is dehydration. Also, another thing that really helps to regulate the system- Apple cider vinegar. Mix 2 tablespoons with a glass of water and drink it down. It really helps with just about anything that ales you.

Doesnt sound like anything is really going to help you but an enema and maybe a clense, check to see if there are colon clense docs in your ares to help reduce your symptoms, you arent going to want to use any herbal remedies as they can cause severe problems, talk with your doc though, mine said I could drink 2 cups of coffee a day which helps me.

I would talk to your dr. They can probably help you out here. Also your pre-natals may be making things worse due to the added iron. You might want to switch to Flintstone's vitamins or something that won't cause you so many problems.

You should talk to your ob and she might prescribe a prenatal vitamin with a stool softener to help you go.
