I am considering a Logitech Quick Cam Pro 5000 which has 30 frames /sec. Have been told that a webcam with 90 frames per second is best. Grateful for your advice. Marcus

30 fps is more than enough for what you will need, normal video runs at 27 fps, a more expensive camera is just a waste of your hard earned dosh

Of course, the more frames the better, but no webcam can activly do 90FPS as most high-powered computer screens only run at 60FPS, even then, you're lucky if you get 30 frames per minute on YIM or MSN.

It depends what you want to use it for.
If you are buying it purely for internet usage - 30 fps is perfect! that's the best balance between quality and size, so it won't take up your connection completely. If you are planning on taking videos with it and saving to your computer for later usage - I'd suggest something higher.
the choice is yours.

if both parties have high-speed internet then that would help alittle.. imo 30fps is enough i'd be more worried about the quality of the lens and resolution than trying to get more than 30fps..

maximum webcams state 30FPS... maximum internet amenities go actually to 15FPS the actually time you'll "use" 30FPS is in case you list without delay on your pc and them put up the video as a report.
