I know it's not Degobah, Thats just where he went into exile, But where the hell is he from and what do you call his race?

I just read something yesterday on Yoda's race and home planet. Lucas intentionally never mentions Yoda's race or home planet (in any movie or his writings) and officially they are still "Unkown", but some authors have attempted to identify Yoda's race and home planet, but are incorrect.
I found the article I read this from, but I can't link to it. You can check it out (for free) by going to StarWars.com, highlight "Community" and select "Questions & Answers" when it opens the Q&A window click on the catagories drop-down box and select "Expanded Universe" and look for the question "Is Yoda a Whill?" and you'll see the official info from LucasArts.

It's a good thing Yoda and Han Solo never met. Given Solo's tendency towards descriptive nicknames (such as calling See Threepio "Goldenrod"), he'd probably call Yoda "Handlebar Ears".

He is from the swamp planet of Dagobah but his race is not mentioned.

It was never revealed in the SW movies. Just like so many others things that were never revealed.
