And they should pay for it as well. If they fail, no more money. I don't want my tax dollars paying for their drugs.
If they want help, they could get help. Help is not enabling them to buy more drugs. How crazy are you?

I can't believe that someone would answer that they shouldn't. We should have some say over what our tax dollars are going for. The fact that they are using our money to buy and then sometimes sell drugs, makes me furious. Drug test them and cut them off if they fail.
Get the drugs off the streets and stop them from ruining our country.

This is a good question. You're totally right, why should our tax dollars pay for their habit? I understand welfare and everything but I'm sorry, most people use and abuse it. They don't use the money to take care of their kids but rather their lazy boyfriends/girlfriends/drugs etc...and I'm sick & tired of paying for it. Wasn't there a law saying that a person can only be on welfare for 5 yrs max? It doesn't take that long to find a job, I'm sorry. I don't mean to degrade anyone but I know TOO many people who work the system and it's just sad to me.

I believe this thoroughly.. the US has were given to seem at how different countries run their welfare. I agree 100%. Drug and alcohol are one of the main reasons people stay on welfare for life. Our government may not realize this because most of them never have to live side by side with people who qualify for welfare but I do. Over 90% of criminals in jail have addiction problems and I would guess that similar percentages would apply to welfare recipients (maybe slightly smaller % on welfare). People on welfare should also be given work at the local government offices such as courts, prisons, or working on road clean up crews. If they are able to work they should be required to work.

I agree witht hat totally , I would love to see random testing or testing before you get money
I would also like to see the food stamp system reformed.. right now its still a trade 2:1 for cash around here
Hoenstly i would love to see a workfare system come about... have them do work for the state or numicipality.. changing light bulbs painting lines on roads or parkingspaces cleaning up the roads etc etc... nobody should ride for free, everyone should do their part as long as they are capible

My adopted sister's mother was notorious...back in the day when you got more money for the amount of kids you have, she had 8 of em...and was a cash cow for the drug dealers...

I hear what you're saying. One thing is for sure, drug tests aren't free. And that cost will be passed along to the taxpayer, unless the charge is deducted from their assistance.

I have a cousin who while on welfare bought a brand new car a house new furniture. Tons and tons of other extravagant things. Gee I can't imagine how she and her husband paid for all those things. (currently in prison hooked on meth too)
I say test em all!

Welfare recipients dont get drug tested before getting on welfare because the person that interview them during the application process analyzes their apperance and everything else to dmake sure the dont have any symptom of drug abuse.
