Me & My husband both have good jobs and make good money! BUT, I'm bad about Credit cards! Were in the process of paying a few off ASAP.. That way we wont be in major debt. We were thinking about waiting until March or April to start trying to have a baby, that way we could get caught up a little bit! Also, my husband will be 29 this coming March and we both agreed to have a baby before he turns 30! Another thing, we dont have any insurance! The hospital that im planning to go to if I do get preg has a birth plan that is $2300 for normal Vag delivery and includes all doctors visits and prenatal care... That doesnt include labs and ultrasound.................. I've got it all planned out, I just don't know if we should wait or just go for it! Im also affraid I wont get preg right away because i've been on the pill for 6 years! AWWWWWWW Dont know what to do :)

Sorry So Much Detail!!!

If you have been on the pill for so long you should start now. And it isn't like the baby will be here the day you get pregnant. you still have a whole nine months to get things worked out and settled. Plus it could take years to get pregnant. It dosent happen all at once the first try for everyone.

A baby brings in more debt but you have a few factors here.

You both want a child but have debt.

You have been on the pill for a LONG time and it may take a while to get your cycles normal after coming off the pill.

I would stop the pill now so you can get your body going in the right direction.

Tear up the cards or give them to your husband so you cant use them. Try to pay on them as much as possible. Don't just pay the minimum because interest will kill you.

I would not try but not prevent. Let it be in Gods hands. He will know when the time is right for you!

Good Luck Hun

my husband and i were in the same boat....didnt know if we should wait or start right after i got off the pill. i was on the pill for 7-8 years. i was naive in thinking i would get pregnant right away. well, we decided to go off the pill and try immediately. That was almost 4 months ago and im still not pregnant. So if you both are sure about this then go for it! have fun and good luck to you :)

6 years is a long time
effects would be minimum if u sopped 6 yrs ago

if not it usually takes min 6 months
so i suggest u stop the pills at least

i suggest u pay bills and all before the baby comes along
a baby is expensive and i mean all the side costs
eg nappy bby food etc

as for commitment about age,
your age before 35 is more important
to avoid things like downs syndrome

I'm in almost the same position here, I am on my last pack of pills, then we'll not try for a while, just be off it to go back to normal. I wanna see if my period is better then. And then we'll try maybe in feb or march, maybe sooner cause i just can't wait. Good luck!!!

you should wait, pay off your debts, learn to control your spending, and obtain insurance now before you get pregnant. the doc fee doesn't cover hospital fees/anesthesiologist fees, etc. you could quit taking the pill now to get the hormones out of your system, while using protection for a few months to get things in order. kids are VERY expensive so sounds like you need to learn to control your spending first or you'll be buying everything under the sun for this child once you learn you are pregnant.

let me tell you something about the pill. Once you get off the pill its out of your system automatically. So i think once your ready to have a baby than your ready. And to me it sounds like your ready. It doesn't matter how much money it costs cuz in the end its all worth it.
