It´s no so hard, there are courses to get better according to your english level, besides, they give to you several techniques to get a high score. As others said, this test is not about pass/fail, the score is the important thing.

My wife took the TOEFL, Test of Written English (TWE), and Test of Spoken English (TSE) some years back. It's not particularly difficult since you get a really good English foundation from the Philippine education system. What you need to be aware of, like any standardized exam, are the testing conditions you'll be under and what I like to call The College Board's English. That is, their English standard is probably closer to what you learned in class, as opposed to what you find on TV. My wife passed on her first try, using self-review material. If you need a classroom setting to get you ready, go ahead. And good luck!

Depends what score you need. It's not a pass/fail exam--you will always get a score, the only question is whether the score you get is good enough for whatever you need it for.
The test format takes some getting used to, so do practice, preferably on a computer. You might as well get as good a score as you can. Read and watch tv/listen to the radio in English. Write and speak in English. Good luck!

it's not that hard, but you need to know the methods of taking toefl exam, 'n thats all! if you know nothing about english 'n you are smart enough then it takes you like 6 month to learn how to take toefl.

It can be really hard. I work next an office that gives this test and have heard horror stories, but you should take some classes and that will help you prepare.
