A happy sex life is an important part of a happy life. I would never bind myself to someone without know that we are sexually compatible.
A life sentence of impassionate sex would be horrible and would lead to divorce, for me...so I gotta know that part of the relationship will be solid, just like other parts of the relationship...companionship, values, goals, etc.

It's a completely idiotic point of view! The laws of nature demand the exact opposite of humans as they get past puberty. Its simply another religious edict that makes no sense at all! We should be teaching safe sex not zero sex until marriage.
Just what happens when two abstaining people marry, have sex and then hate each others performance? A miserable marriage comes to mind.
Those that follow that nonsense need to wake up!

I think your own maturity and the relationship you have with the person and your love and level of intimacy should be more important. Nothing magical happens the second you get married, so what's the big deal if you have sex on your wedding day, or a week before, or even don't get married at all? My mom has a boyfriend for the past 12 years and they have a kid! Is that wrong?

Of course the two abstinent people would have a lot to learn, but together they would grow. I believe in abstinence.

If you CAN wait then Wait. If you can't that opens a WHOLE new set of questions about the relationship. It's all about the love a person has for you. There is a difference between love and lust. As long as the decision is mutual though. Nowadays you have to dip people in clorox before you can kiss them!!!

To each is own. Personally, I don't agree with it.
On the other hand, I think it's important to have sex with someone who you actually care for and love. But waiting to have sex until marriage can be risky. Sex is a huge part of a relationship, and can ruin a relationship if you are not satisfied.
