Loss of a testicle does not cause erectile disfunction.
If you look at the statistics claimed by the drug companies, nearly 40% of all men report erectile disfunction by mid life. So it is not surprising that he has this problem.
Also, it can be related to blood pressure, diabetes, heart trouble, circulatory trouble and I wouldn't be surprised if smoking and drinking play a role as well.
My guess would be the alcohol rather than a missing testicle. One testicle is still sufficient for the testosterone needed and to father children and I don't believe testosterone is responsible for erections.

Keeping an erection has nothing to do with having testicles. The loss of testicles means you can't conceive. But you certainly can act. The erection is controlled by the brain. When it receives sexually exciting images or feelings, it releases hormones which allow the increase flow of blood to the penis. It's probably the drinking and his general health that is affecting his erection.

Yes it can. Not from a physical stand point, but from a mental standpoint. Men who lose one or both testicles often feel self conscious about the lack, and then they lose or can't acheive erections. In your case it's probably the alcohol.

Having one testicle should not phsyically effect his erection. Probably the drinking or he could be self concoius about having just one.

Bad circulation, perhaps, or maybe standing up just isn't very 'hot' to you. It might aslso just be some kind of mental associaation where it goes limp because you have started to expect it to go limp. Anyway, I'd ask your doc. There might be some other thing that is going on.

Alcohol is most likely the cause. Any amount of alcohol can effect a persons health.
There is an easy solution, stop drinking and test it out.
