Yes this is totally normal. I did the exact same thing. For the first three shots I bled ALL the time the doctor telling me it was breakthrough bleeding but it was alot more than that. I couldn't deal with it so I never did the fourth shot. My las shot was due in also in October but I have not had my period not even any spotting. It can take anywhere from 3,6 month up to 18 months to have normal periods again. If you want regular periods or are trying to conceive you can talk to your doctor and they will put you on progesterone to help you start up you cycles again.

Here is a website on the depo that give you some more helpful info.

The last paragraph states it can take 6-9 months for all the medication to get out of your body.

But that doesn't mean you can't get pregnant.

Hope this helps some.

It can take up to a year for your body to return to normal periods after Depo, and six months for those on the pill.

Some women bleeding massively on Depo, some spot, and some have no period at all. It is a hormone, and it effects everyone differently.

Sometimes it takes your body a little while to adjust to not having those extra hormones.

You might want to try switching to the pill to regulate your periods.

Depo can stop your period while you are on it; as well as give you irregular periods, while your body is excreting it.
