In Japan they only have the materialistic side of Christmas, as in Santa and Christmas tree and decorations. They don't have any traditional Christmas foods or traditions. The day after Christmas, all the decorations are taken down and new ones for the Japanese New Year are put up. So no they don't really have Christmas as a public holiday at all, but they do like the shopping side of things

Yes. They celebrate Christmas over there as well as South Korea. I also know that in South Korea, they celebrate Thanksgiving Day. So, it is not a Christmas-like holiday, it is Christmas.
Hope this answers your question! Happy Holidays!

No such Chrismas holiday like the west. Most business person doesn't take day-off for/as the Chrismas holiday(s). But fortunately, 23rd Dec is Emperor's birthday and it is national holiday.
You know, the financial market in the west, traiders are taking holidays. But the ppl in Tokyo market work in their office.
They have nothing to do. cos the western markets are very slow.
