It's rude.
Sure, a reporter has the right to do that, but they may never get the First Lady to ever answer another one of their questions.

It isn't appropriate for most people to interrupt anyone, it's generally considered rude in our culture. But newspeople? That's part of their stock in trade, whether we like it or not. Why is Laura Bush special that she shouldn't received the same treatment from the press that comes down on her husband, and other policitians like Hillary. I have a feeling you wouldn't mind Hillary being interrupted at all, tell the truth, you wouldn't would you? And she holds an important political office. It's par for the course in politics, and as First Lady, she's one of the smallest cogs in the wheel.

It is just plain rude behavior to interrupt any that is speaking. I accidentally do it sometimes myself and I feel terrible after doing it. But I doubt the younger generation were raised to feel that it's disrespectful to interrupt some in mid sentence. I also don't feel anyone has the right to do that, not even an interviewer, unless it's an interview show being taped live and it's going over the time limit.
And if a news person wants to interview someone they should be respectful to what that person has or wants to say.

It might not be appropriate, but it could have been necessary (or at least the interrupter thought so). She is not the President, she is his wife. She should garner no respect for being married to an idiot anyways.

Inappropriate & unnecessary but hardly surprising given the bias of the mainstream media.

in most cases no... it's not a very effective way to interview someone...
but if you've ever watched Hannity, O'Rieley or Rush... they constantly do it... MUCH more than any othter newsperson I've ever known... and that's a major reason I don't like them too...

No, I don't think it's right for a newscaster to interrupt a guest, but Bill O'Reilly does it all the time.

If the newsperson worked for me, he or she would be fired.
It's a good way to not get to get another opportunity.

WELL, Rush Limbaugh did it to President Bush in an interview in an episode and I thought that was rude, so yes.

No, they should let the lies, the propoganda, and the misleading spin continue to dribble out of the messenger's face.
