Yes, they are its just that it is a regional Games, similar to the Commonwealth Games. They have some talented athletes and some who will only progress to that level and no further. That doesn't take anything away from their achievements. The competition sets the benchmark and the Olympics is the highest level to aspire to.

Depend s on who they are competing against. If those athletes were competing in the Olympics or World Championships against countries like Germany, England, Australia, USA etc they won't be winning Gold medals let alone making it to those games.

Well. Qatar is rich country and most of the goods (except GAS, PETROLEUM PRODUCTS...and something else...) are imported. Now, Qatar and Bahrain have experimented (ofcourse other countries also have successfully adoped this idea) of importing athlets too. Interesting thing is they are accepting KENYAN athletes who are world record holders in middle and long running. Most of the Kenyans have changed their old name to ISLAMIC names..for example:
