I know why Lincoln was called log cabin but why do gay Republicans call themselves log cabin?

Lincoln was gay.
And that is where the log cabin came from.
Check out the history. Lincoln not only was openly gay but as commander and chief had a young gay Army Lieutenant as a bed fellow.
I think Lincoln was the first president to have track lighting installed in the White house.

If I understand correctly, and I'm not 100% sure that I do, but they simply use log cabin in reference to their republican status, not their gay status. I believe they trace their "roots" of sorts back to old time republicans who were more concerned with national security and economics more than social issues, like gay marriage
