I'm about 60-70lbs over my ideal body weight. I had unprotected sex on Dec. 2 (around expected time of ovulation) and have been having some possible pregnancy symptoms lately (naseua, extreme breast tenderness, and HORRIBLE back aches). I have taken an early response preg. test and the result was negative. However, my period is now 2 days late and I'm wondering if I could be pregnant. Would obesity be a factor in getting a false negative? I know the best method is to be patient and wait for my period, but I'm really dying to know if I'm pregnant!

No, obsesity doesn't have anything to do with your hormone levels.....

No your weight does not have any effect on your pregnancy tests as the pregnancy tests check he pregnancy hormone. The only thing it does effect is your period. If you are overweight you are more likely to have irregular periods. Also, back aches don't happen till late in pregnancy. It's not likely that you're pregnant if you've gotten a negative, but if you are still worried, go to the planned parenthood and next time no matter what he says make him use a condom or no sex. Get the pill.

Obesity does not affect a pregnancy test result. Some would say that it can affect your ability to get pregnant. But once your pregnant you will have the same hormones as everybody else. Wait a few more days and retest. Every women is different and some women have very low levels of hormone at first. You can also go to your doc. or Midwife for a blood test. good luck

GO TO THE DOCTOR! get a blood test. i was alittle over weight when i became pregnant. and having lots of pregnancy symptoms. i knew something just was NOT right. i mustve took 12 pregnancy tests with in a month. ALL negative! when i finally got a positive, i went to the doctor and it was confirmed. 2 months pregnant. it wasnt because i was over weight tho. my hormone levels were low and the test was just couldnt pick it up. i was given some pills to take for the low hormones, for about a week. everything got up to normal, and i just had a very healthy baby boy! good luck!

No wieght doesn't affect your period but stress can. If you're stressing over this it could be a factor...2 days late is too early to tell anything even with eary responsse kit. Wait a week if nothing GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR. and get a proper test done

not at all!! the pregnancy hormone detected in ur urine would be the same regardless of weight. try again, it is possible to test too early and get negative results. or consult your doctor. either way, good luck!!

No, but if you are pregnant and overweight, keep in mind that your chances for developing diabetes and blood pressure issues are much greater, according to my doctor. Good luck!!
