You should get a 30 minute meal break and another 10 minute break, especially if it's more than 6 hours!

Barbara J is correct. It is an OSHA standard that you get a 15 minute break during each 4 hour period of work. So, in an 8 hr day you would get 2 15 minute breaks. A few times I worked 10-12 hour days they gave me an additional 15 minute break around the 9th or 10th hour.

I work 8 hours and I am given a non paid half hour break and 2 paid 10 min breaks.

you are supposed to get one 15-minute break for every 4 hours you work - according to OSHA. So, that means two 15 minutes breaks. However, your employer can wait for the full four hours to give you that break which means that after the end of the next 4 hours you end up with only one 15-minute break.

My supervisor never mentioned a break period just a 30 min to an hour lunch.

It depends on whether or not you are in a union. I know many people who work 10+ hours a day and don't get a formal break.

you should get two of them if you work i a factory befor lunch after lunch if you only get a 30 min lunch break
