A family visit would be nice and a food and fruit basket is always welcome in the institutions. Please enquire first if bottles are allowed in the holiday basket, and what else is allowed. Good luck and happy holidays.

I think the best gift you could give him is a visit from you! If that is not possible then send him a care package of items he is allowed or both. Visits mean more to them then anything and I am sure he misses you a lot. Merry Christmas.

Does he like to read? Send off some nice paperbacks. Maybe some sports magazines like Sports Illustrated or ESPN.

What kind of things is he allowed? What about practical things like socks and t shirts? Is he in a cold or warm weather state? If he is in a cold weather state, can you send some sweatshirts or flannel shirts?

Can you send a care package and will he get it? You can send packages of crackers and cookies.

I hope these ideas help.

LOVE! That's the meaning of Christmas. God gave us the Christ child to grow up and cover our sins with his blood for good. He loved us that much to give up his only son. Now we have to express our love to others for him. Just make sure he knows that you love him. Give him a card that says you donated X amount of dollars to ( What ever Charitable organization ) in his name. That's what I give to people every Christmas. I give to the ones who need giving. My family doesn't need anything so that's why I do this.
