Yes, it is ok for your baby to have hiccups that many time with you being that far along. Actually it is good for your baby to get hiccups that shows that it has a good diafram and that your baby is growing and breathing regulary. You can go to discoveryhealthchannel.com and check this out. If you are worried about your babys health then please dont hesate to contact your doctor and ask him or her about this. But I would say that you have a very active son or daughter on the way and they just waunt to make there presence know to you every chance they can. Enjoy it. It just shows that they are healthy and there is no better thing than a healthy baby. good luck and i hope this helps. enjoy your new baby.. hope all goes well

Hiccups are a wonderful thing! They mean that #1, your baby's lungs are developing well, #2 his/her nerves are responsive and working and #3, if you had to undergo a fetal stress test...you actually recieve extra points for hiccups! Hiccups are a sign of a very healthy baby!

I do symathize though...I am 36 weeks also, and my baby gets them a lot too! Sometimes they lst for a loooooonnnnnggggg time! The worst ones are right when I am settling in for bedtime! There isn't anything you can do to control them...so you'll have to just stick it out! Don't worry...you're almost there!
Good luck and Congratulations!

its very normal. my baby gets it all the time. actually i cant wait for her to get it. im usually trying to guess where her head is, and the hiccups are a dead give away lol. the baby is learning how to breathe and swallow on its own, and gets the fluid. no need for concern though. but wow arent they strong?!? feels like im the one who has the hiccups. my mom says she never felt it either and she's had 3 kids so dont worry, you're good.

love jen.

All three of my children had the hiccups. My last one didn't have them as often but he had them. I wouldn't worry. I remember them driving me crazy at times b/c I was trying to sleep. Best of luck.
