We Americans can pretty much do whatever we want. And when we need to bail out France or whomever, like we've done in the past, we'll do that also.
We are the greatest nation in the world. Jealousy by other nations only makes it more fun.
Even with George W. Bush in office, the man who some think is an "idiot", we still control the majority of the nukes (which gives us unlimited power), and more people are trying to get into this country than any other.
It's great to be an American!

Seeing as how we have the greatest political system, best economy (especially in the long term), and best medicine in the world, I think we can afford a little smugness now and then.
We might still get a little big for our britches, but we have the biggest britches in the world, so don't think any other little pissant country's going to be able to come close to filling them (I'd apologize for the mixed metaphor - you fill someone else's shoes, not britches - but if you're not an American I don't care.)
I don't see the rest of the world trying to emigrate to France, China, Russia or Angola.

Can the Brits be smug conned into a war in the Middle East that the country cannot afford?
Nobody wins as far as war is concerned. Did you see the sickening report on the deformed children in Vietnam ?

only the ones ( democrats? ) that didnt vote for the idiot. But what goes around will defo. come back around. Americans have nothing - politically to be smug about - the president is a troll, they are the only country 2 use nuclear weapons and the government suspects everyone for something.

Actually, I'm a proud American and I'm ashamed of Bush and everything he stands for. Don't let that smug grin on his face make you think that all Americans are like him!

If you think Americans are smug, you've obviously never met anyone from England.

Please don't assume that ALL Americans agree with the behavior of the president. I never voted for him....and disagree with just about EVERYTHING he stands for. He is....well, not sure I can post what I was thinking....but just know not all of us are smug like he makes us appear to be. OK???
