or are they just excited to see a well-spoken, handsome black man that doesn't have an obvious chip on his shoulder towards whites

becuase he is very green and he talks out of his you know what on a lot of issues,,,,

I respect the man I just think he needs way more experience,, he hasn't been through the mill yet,,at least to be president,,plus ,,if Hillary beats him that will be horrible for him and for US

I mean you can be a great speaker and really suave without knowing jack,,,,in fact a lot of low level politicians are like that,,and that is why they never break i nto the big leagues,,so I don't think this guy is ready,,,he might never be,, people need to do thier homework

ANYONE agree or disagree

I will admit, I don't know much about him, however, that is why I'm checking out his books from my library (I'm on a waiting list). All I hear is, "wow, he's great"...but I don't know anything else besides that. Yes, I agree people should do their homework, and that is why I am going to do mine. However, I don't understand what the "mill" is...and if you are thinking he's green b/c he is relatively young...well, I have to disagree. I don't think age=intelligence or common sense. People were mocking his name, for being a muslim name...that's annoying, I would think that it would help our world image if we elected him....it may make us look less like Crusaders. However, I know I am speaking out of my ***, b/c I don't know as much about him as I should....but, mark my words...I will research him thoroughly.

I think we can see what he stands for politically by looking at the bills he's sponsored and supported...

he co-sponsored a bill for more transparency in governernment so that people could see what was going on.The bill created a website where people could go to see where all government funds are spent... sounds like a great idea to me...

he also co-sponsored a bill to raise the amount college students could get in a grant, which with rising education costs, I feel was vitally needed...

he also co-sponsored an immigration bill with McCain that focused on leveling the field for American workers and more

and he also sponsored a bill to expanded non-proliferation to certain conventional weapons like shoulder fired missles and more.

He's also traveled to many countries and spoken with foreign leaders.

Now, is the the most experienced... of course not... but he clearly has some stances he's taken politically and there is an idea of where he is comming from and what he may want to do here...

and I've never heard him talk out of his "you know what" on issues... do you have any facts to back up anything you said... and why are you asking this question again?

"Barack Hussein Obama (born August 4, 1961) is the junior U.S. Senator from Illinois. According to the U.S. Senate Historical Office, he is the fifth African American Senator in U.S. history and the only African American presently serving in the U.S. Senate.[1] Obama delivered the keynote address at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. In November 2004, he was elected to the United States Senate as a Democrat. Recent opinion polls identify Obama as the second most popular choice among Democratic voters for their party's nomination in the 2008 U.S. presidential election, after Hillary Clinton.[2] He is married to Michelle Obama (née Robinson) with whom he has two daughters."

I respect the guy but have found nothing that he stands for or against on issues. Sure he may be a great speaker but that does not make a great leader.

NO

No one knows because there is no history. He accidentally ended up as the Senator for Illinois and Oprah likes him.

That's It.

Now idiots think that is all it takes to make command decisions.

Even Bush has a better background than that. At least Bush has the best experience money can buy.

Go big Red Go

He's a Senator in my state. Stands for nothing. He's a fence rider and just goes the path of least resistance. Liberal. Great public speaker and has a way with people. Too liberal for me.

I think intelligence and honesty go a long way. Most of our presidents are simply former governors who have no real experience with international affairs or macroeconomics. If they surround themselves with knowledgable people and are able to assess information rationally and intelligently (unlike the current admin.), they should be able to serve competently.

IT SEEMS LIKE HE HAS ALOT TO HIDE. HIS VOTING RECORD IN THE SENATE IS 97% WITH THE PARTY TYING HIM WITH JOHN KERRY AS ONE OF THE MOST PARTISAN POLITICIANS IN THE SENATE. IT IS HIRE THAN HILLARY CLINTON. HE HAS A RATING OF 100% FROM THE LEFT WING GROUP THE AMERICANS FOR DEMOCRATIC ACTION.
THIS PUTS HIM TO THE LEFT OF TED KENNEDY WHO SCORED A 95% FROM THIS GROUP. HE SPENT SOME OF HIS EARLY YEARS IN THE LARGEST MUSLIM COUNTRY IN THE WORLD IN INDONESIA. HE GRADUATED FROM HONOLULU HIGH. HIS MIDDLE NAME IS HUSSEIN. THAT'S ENOUGH FOR ME.
