Depends on what the crisis is

If its an emergency, keep your calm and dont lose your mind and your hope. You need presence of mind in such situations to find a solution.

If crisis means a situation you are trying too hard to change than,
Focus on what is supposed to be done. Do what has to be done with your heart, soul and absolute dedication.

If your dedication is really sincere, God will appreciate your dedication and will convince your fate to change and will personally make sure you get what you wanted.

Which is why they say a man makes his own luck(but with gods help ofcourse who checks if you have really worked hard and signs the paper and approves)

that is when YOU push things to the limit and go that extra mile!

Crises could in this case be divided into two categories:
A. nature of the crisis is known

1. crises in which time factor is paramount and within a very short period something ireversible and decisive will happen;

THis crisis is one for which the procedures to avert are known but the time factor limits the resources at hand.

2. Crisis for which time(resource) factor is not decisive but a decision is crucial, and has a high probability of irreversible.

3. crisis for which neither time or decision is crucial but the implementation and the results of which are unchartered territory.

B. nature of crisis unknown

1. in all three crises before the nature of crisis was clear. 4 th one is the crisis for which nature (type) is unknown to the solver, but the crisis belongs to one of the above three types.

for A-1 the first thing to do is to cutdown the options and decide on what could be salvaged in the worst case scenario, and taking a "pseudo random" step from the reduced set of procedures.

A-2 the best way is to hedge bets, take alternative low risk paths first and then weight the results on experience. Most of the complex problems are hard to predict it is best to work within a smaller horizon (not projecting far into the future)

A-3 THis is where a "cool head" thing comes , you have to use maximum of your resources and ingenuity, get advice, and be unemotional , before retracting out of such a situation, one has to study the "landscape" of the crisis in both space and time in order to gain any clues before acting.

B-1 In this case the problem is not known best way is to take frequent decisions clustered in "decision space" with occasional excursion towards unknown (this is typical of hunter gatherer wandering patterns).Stay there if situation is more preferable or fall back to the old cluster, thus adaptively solving the crisis. The occasional big step is absolutely essential for long term survival.

I'm sure all the answers here are useful... the chinese word for 'crisis' means danger and opportunity

there always opportunity in crisis. You'll learn something new. i learned how to deal with landlords and banks when I was in a financial crisis (money got held up for 1 month, could not even pay rent).

These things you have absolutely no control over so Learn to relax, party, have fun, and most importantly LIVE IN THE PRESENT (live for now).

Well, it depends on the crisis. Some things need time for reflection and contemplation. Other crises need immediate action to reduce or mitigate danger (ie. CPR).

Frankly, it requires a bit more than a generalized answer. What are the parameters of the crisis? Is one alone, or with others? What is the immediacy of the crisis?

Essentially, one must evaluate and act/react according to the particular situation.

Understand that there are allot of people that are willing to help. So many people out there desire to help people when they are going through tough times. I would encourage a person going through a crisis to know that there are people out there that can help but also that understand because they have been there. I would encourage them to seek out counselors, talk with a local church, depending on the situations both police departments and hospitals have chaplains on hand that are trained to help people in crisis situations. Don't suffer alone because no should be alone is a crisis situation.

Breath and take time to think. Even in the worst crisis a moment's thought makes all the difference in the world. You need to collect your thoughts and analyze your options whether your crisis is a personal emotional one, a professional or business one or an actual physical one. You want to act prudently, not react automatically.

When you are in crisis whether its a financial, emotional or relationship, it is important that you accept the fact that crisis come and go. Its now depend on you, how long you will forego your problem and start moving on. Praying will help you a lot to move on, because it will clear your mind and give additional energy to solve your crisis. Another is faith, you believe on yourself.
