The two busiest shopping days are on the weekend before Christmas. So this year it will probably be December 17th and December 23rd since Christmas Eve is on a Sunday and most stores close early.
FYI: Most people think "Black Friday" is, but that term actually refers to when the Retailers see their profitablity for the year go from the Red(Loss) to Black(Profit).

In the US, the two biggest shopping days are the day after Thanksgiving and the day after Christmas. Those are the two best days to catch the good sales.

In Canada it is Boxing Day (one day after Christmas) and New Years Day. Valentines comes in very close to those two holidays.
