I've been to Walt Disney World in Florida a few times. I try to go every summer, now. In my opinion, Walt Disney World is much better because it is much larger and there's much more to do. There's four different theme parks, two water parks, Downtown Disney, and over 20 different Resorts. Disneyland only has two theme parks, a Downtown Disney District, and three hotels. Your children would have the time of their lives at Walt Disney World. Trust me, there's plenty to keep them busy and entertained. It can be quite expensie, but it depends on a lot of things, like where you're traveling from, which Resort you'd like to stay at, which park tickets you'd like to purchase, whether or not you'd like to add the Disney Dining Plan, whether or not you're planning on sticking to the parks or enjoying all the recreation, etc. They have all sorts of vacation packages. Typically, it would cost around $1,500 for a family of four to stay at a Value Resort with Magic Your Way Base Tickets. And that's not bad at all. My boyfriend and I like to go all-out during our vacations to Walt Disney World, so we stay at the more expensive Resorts and get a package that's all-inclusive. For the two of us, this past summer it cost us around $9,000. EVERYTHING was included in our package, though, and we had the most magical, memorable time. You certainly don't have to spend anywhere near that much. But if you can afford it, it's obviously worth it.
Hope I could help! Have fun, whichever Disney Park you choose!

I haven't been to Disney land but I have been to Disney world. I would say yes there is plenty to do that should keep a 3 and 5 year old entertained, it's very big. It would take about a week or more to see and do everything. The Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom parks at Disney world would probably be the best places to go for kids that age though. There are many kid friendly rides and things to do there where as Disney's Epcot and MGM Studio parks are more for older kids and adults.
It is expensive but you can save quite a bit by staying at a hotel outside of Disney World and taking your own food and drinks into the park. Alot of people take backpacks along with everything they need (snacks, camera, watter bottles, a small hand fan etc.).

I have been to both and both areas have Universal Studios (which is awesome). The price of flying there will likely be your deciding point. The kids will be exhuasted at the end of each day no matter which park you pick!
Our family is going to Disney Land this February and I researched both places before we planned the trip. We booked through Alaska Airlines, they were the cheapest I could find for Disney Land and offer discounted ticket prices when you book through them. You can scan there web site and get an idea of prices.
Have fun!

They are both my favorite places on earth! I personally like Disneyland...it's smaller and more affordable in my opinion. And it is the original park, so as a Disney Purist......I love that one best.
Disneyworld will take you at least a week to see it all, whereas as Disneyland, you need 2 days. But Disneyworld is amazing....water parks, numerous theme parks, restuarants. Epcot is amazing! The weather is amazing.
You can't go wrong with either, but Disneyland is more affordable. Do some research online for package prices. Sometimes you can get a real deal. But expect to pay at least $1500 for a week in Florida, versus $500 for a few days in Anaheim.

We had so much fun! We took our 2, 4, and 6 years old children. I would recommend going to Disney World. There is a lot for them to see at the different parks. But, unfortunatly, it is a bit expensive. We went to the Animal Kingdom park, Magic Kingdom, and MGM Studios park. THere are a lot of great shows at the MGM Park. And there are a couple of really great play areas. Slides, tunnels and such. You should check out the different parks on the website. I'm sure it's Disney.com Have Fun!!!

We took our 2 and 4 year old last year to World, they both loved it and wonder when we can go back to Mickey's house. We went right before Thanksgiving and the lines weren't bad at all.
Would definitely do it while they are young and can experience the "magic"
We saved some money by staying at either Hilton by downtown Disney.

It had character breakfasts and regular shuttles to and from the parks

I've been to both....It totally depends on how long you wan to go on vacation. While Disneyland offer lots to do, with the downtown area (shopping) and California Adventure.....I do like Disney world. There's TONS more to do, and besides the 4 parks they also have water parks (with kiddie themed areas). A huge downtown area that has shopping, dinning, and nightlife. There is also about 100 hotels to choose from....from low budget to very pricey. But if you choose to do either park.....try to bring the little boxes of cereal with and lots of snack....both parks are expensive for food....plus, you won't be bring any food back with you so then you already have a bag with you for souvenirs and you won't have to purchase one while your out on vacation.

Wait until they are older, there is only a handful of rides for children this age. Its expensive and you will pay a lot for food, so take lots of snacks, and drinks. My kids had more fun at Great America which was by far cheaper than Disney and had more child size rides, but every child loves the characters at Disney.
A one day hopper ticket that allows you to switch parks is $73.00 per child 3 years and up, $83.00 per adult.
One day visit to one park is $53.00 per child and $63.00 per adult.

The parks are similar but there are more closeby parks to visit in Florida than in LA. Disney World would be a better choice.
