I have tried legal services and the volunteer lawyer program and they will not accept me. I really need some help on this ASAP. Thanks!

Maybe you could trade... Post a sign in front of the Court House, "Will Work for Legal Representation or Cash". I am sure a Lawyer will take you up on that. You may not like doing that but... you will get what yu are looking for (Lawyers are Cheap Bastards)

I'm not sure about free, but what you may want to do is contact your local bar association(county or state) and ask for the contact information for the committee chairperson for the area of law that is appropriate to your situation(criminal, real estate, tax, wills, etc.). These committees keep their peers up to date on the latest developments in that area. I've found from personal experience that it's the best way to get good legal help without paying an arm and a leg. I apologize for not being able to point you in the direction of free legal help, but competent legal help is much better-you're paying for peace of mind...

If you're a defendant, the court will appoint one for you. If you're filing a suit, then you're out of luck.
