I personally think that the drinking age should be raised because so many people get in car accidents, end up in jail, people get killed because someone was drinking and made a mistake and didn't realize what they were doing, also it becomes an addiction. Some people rely on it.

The age of 21 is good. Yes people do go to war and fight at 18 but if they die who’s to say their decision was a wise one? A live dog is better than a dead lion.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that the choices we make aren’t always fully thought out, and mature people often think about the end result more so than someone who’s just beginning to figure out who they are.
True people can drive at an early age but notice how insurance companies lower their rates when someone reaches their mid 20’s. Most car rental companies won’t rent to you if you are under 20. Studies have shown that you have become less of a risk and a more mature driver by now. Which is proabably why the legal drinking is age is about the same.

The drinking age of 21 is fine for the general public. The problem with that as I see it is that If you say that someone is old enough/mature enough to fight and die for his/her country, then they should also be able to buy liquor. The only place that the military enforces the drinking age is in the USA. Once you leave this country then there is no drinking age. So this belies the belief that there is a magic age number when one is mature enough to control alcohol consumption.
Basically, pick an age when one is an "Adult" and allow all adult rights to be exercised at that age. Dump the P.C. BS.

i believe 21 is fair enough to be the legal age of drinking. but it shouldn't be lower than that. people are still irresponsible at the early age. beacause those age ranging from 18-21 are the times when they hang out a lot of time with teenagers and friends. so, they don't know how to control tereselves yet. because they're in the stage of experimentation. they don't know yet the do's and don'ts of alcohol. so it is best when people start drinking when they mature enough to handle situation as being drunk, choosing when to drink, saying no to drinks if you know you gotta do something the next day or just being in control.

The drinking age should be lowered because I do not think that it is fair to the 18 year olds are supposedly grown. I mean...you can fight a war that is meaningless but you cannot even buy a beer? Tell me that is not hypocrisy right there. It is so stupid how our nation runs itself, it truly does not think of what the people want, just the little things they could enjoy...like weed.

TWENTY ONE is young enough for drinking.
I think we only have to take a look around to see how poor the judgment of young people under 21 is.
Males over 21 don't have much better judgment.
When I was young you had to be 21 to drink, and vote. Driving was 16. These were good things.
Most young people under 21 are not fully "cooked". They just have not developed good judgment yet. Just look at all of the alcohol poison that goes on among young people.

Some people over 21 years old cannot handle alcohol properly. Meaning, they do not know, sometimes, when to stop. Drinking age should be raised, as a matter of fact.

In Canada the drinking age is 18/19 depending on what province you are in. I think the drinking age is okay here because this is also the age where one becomes completely responsible legally for anything they do. Those who want to experiment with drinking that are underage are going to do it no matter what the age limit is.

Greetings from England.
Over here the legal drinking age is 18 and we have a big problem in the cities with young people getting outrageously drunk. I mean drinking themselves unconscious, for instance.
This leads to problems with fighting, vandalism, road accidents, etc., etc. and drains valuable police resource away from more important things.
Do yourselves a favour and leave the drinking age at 21 - it will make all the difference.

Lowered, for sure. I experienced a lowered drinking age in Germany and Canada (germany 16 (beer only), canada 18). Both countries have fewer drunk driving incidents because people learn how to be responsible drinkers in their youth. Seriously, lower is better. Don't buy that BS hype that drinking younger than 21 stunts brain growth, that's a crock.
