Saints and Soldiers.

Why: It is the first war movie that captured the spirit and frustration of fighting in Europe in World War II in the cold winter. My grandfather is a hard man, and fought in the Ardens during the battle of the Bulge and he cried like a baby in that movie. I have never seen that man cry in my life. It was not so much the fighting, but the deprevity of man's soul in war and cruelty and desparation that is born in war.

He commented that so many were frustrated with God back then for letting their friends die in their arms and seeing all that death and destruction - and that movie brought clarity that God did so much goodness in those times - though man was doing such evil. I was blown away from the movie - and for an independent movie the graphics from the blood and gore was so real. They had vintage tanks and planes and uniforms on hand from museums around the world.

After the movie was done - it left you with hope, and I won't ruin it for you but will insist you watch it!!!

It's a wonderful life. Shows that there really is good in people, you just have to find it.

Gone with the Wind. Scarlett O'Hara starts out the movie as a spoiled brat, but ends up by the end as a woman of means. She also demonstrated the ability to fight for what you believe in and have the ability to find solutions when the possible seemed impossible.

Pulp Fiction. Quinten Tarantino's use of a number of movie genre's taken and made into one huge masterpiece is amazing. He uses blacksploitation, love stories, gangster movies, horror, S&M, and a plethora of other influences to create the gem of a movie. It is my favorite movie of all time.

The Godfather. No matter how many times you see it, you never get tired of watching it. It is just endlessly fascinating. It is larger than life. It speaks profoundly about family, corruption, and the American Dream.
