I believe my son is visiting sites he shouldn't. Is there a way I can look at his activity if he has deleted the files mentioned? I'm not the most computer literate guy around, but I can get by. Are there files still on the computer I can easily view to see what he's been up to .... or is my only option to get software that tracks future activity?

Not really.

I'd suggest that you get software to prevent future visits to sites that you find inappropriate... but there are also "spy" softwares for "family" use.

Sorry, Dad, if your son wants to get to certain sites and is prevented from doing so at home, he will find a way.

With that said, you can set some security at home and at least prevent the "stuff" from coming into your home.

Make yourself administrator. Do not allow changes without your permission.

In Internet Explorer, click Tools, Internet Options. Carefully, check out the Security, Privacy, and Content tabs. Set Security to high.

Under Content, click "Enable." Set what you will or will not allow, then control it with a password.

If he cleared the history, go to the cookie or cache folders. This is where websites put temp files on you computer. It will basically be little icons with websites on it. How old is he? Maybe do you think you should just talk to him about it first?
