On "The Matrix", whatever happened to Tank?

I thought just his brother Dozer died. I knew that he got injured, but I didn't see any hints as to whether he was going to die from it.

I never saw parts two or three, but maybe they couldn't get him to act again in the series, either for money or because he didn't want to, in which case, the directors probably intended for us to assume that he just became part of the huge underground crowd on the movie, "Zion" or whatever it was called.
