Is there any way to get around the one-year separation period before a divorce can be finalized in Maryland? Are there any states with no residency requirement to process a divorce?

move to another state. You need residency/domicile, because otherwise the court will not have jurisdiction to grant you a divorce. You can get a divorce any where as long as you are domiciled there...requirements for domicile are different everywhere. And that divorce will be valid everywhere if the court had jurisdiction. But if your wife is going to fight you on this you might have a whole other mess on your hands. Good luck!

look on Maryland divorce code but i think abuse and 2 other causes bypass the separation.
