Is it? I didn't know it was. The only time I hear that used is when a person is really upset or excited and says "JESUS CHRIST"!!!!!!!! Not sure that that is a curse word but perhaps a desperate crying out for Jesus Christ.

Now, on the other hand GD is definately a curse word and results in "Damning God" which is a dangerous path to tread.

Good luck. Pops

Never thought of it as a cuss word, more like an expression of surprise or frustration !

I don't think you can use a proper noun as an oath, with the possible exception of calling someone a "Hitler". I mean have you ever heard anyone say..." Why you dirty son-of-God" or "You don't know your Christ from your elbow!" Know what I mean pookie ?

Since someone chiseled on stone the words, Thou shall not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.
