I never really got to spend much time with him, but my kitten loved him! and now i can tell he misses him. ive heard dwarf hamsters are very mean and violent and this little guy was very tempermental. Whats a good common breed of hamster to get?

syrian hamsters, are a larger species of hamsters that come in many differant colors and can have either long or short hair. Common names of these hammys are as follows: black bear, honey hamster, panda hamster, dalmation hamster, calico or torteshell hamsters, teddy bear hamsters (long hair hamsters), other types of short hair hammys come in the traditional brown w/white under face, tan, white, brown and white, tan and white. These hamsters are individuals and should be picked out by personality. Other species of hamsters are the dwarf hamsters. russian dwarf hamsters a.k.a. cambels dwarfs also come in many differant colors from the traditional brown, to mottled (spotted), white, agouti, black, grey, ect. they also must be picked out by personality but are usually easier to hand tame if they are 4/5 weeks of age. they also do best being transitioned to being held if the hamster is alowed to crawl from a object(hammy house) into your hand. this eliminates the fear of "hand swooping down to catch and eat them " once trust is established this should not be and issue. the other type of dwarf is a winter white dwarf, they look exactly like russians but will turn seasonally from brown to white and are uncommon in the pet trade. another type of hamster is the chinese dwarf hamsters. they only come in two color fazes, brown or albino. They are usually sweet tempered, but are also very fast and if they escape you are unlikely to catch them. as again they should be picked out by personality. Robo dwarf hamsters are another dwarf species and also the smallest availible in the pet trade. personalitys will vary among them and they are simular to the russians in hand taming by using a object to crawl out of into your hand. other small pets. Gerbils can be wonderful pets here you want to get the youngest ones availible to have a easier time hand taming. Mice also make wonderful pets although i would only recommend females due to the high ammonia smell of the males urine. Although rats make wonderful pets im assuming your cage is sized for hamsters and would be too small to house them.

Hello,
I had a dwarf hamster and they are very nippy. I took him back as I didn't need a hamster that bites. I right now have 2 robo hamsters which are very small and fun to watch but may be hard to train because they are smaller than a dwarf.I have a Teddy bear hamster which is very friendly and loves his ball to run in.His winter hair is in now and gets nice and long and has to be brushed with a small brush. I've had regular short haired ones and they are very cute and can be friendly if trained and held. I also have a gerbil named Peppy and he is friendly but very fast . I hold him all the time to get him close to me and he is my baby. They have to be held a lot to get them friendly and to be able to play with them.I had a black bear hamster that passed away and he was very friendly. I think the Teddy Bear and the Black bear are the friendliet that I have had.

First, what species of hamster are you attempting to reproduce? you'll opt to do study particular to the species you pick (Syrian, Dwarf Campbell, Dwarf iciness White, chinese Dwarf or Roborovski Dwarf). then you actually ought to make your innovations up what you'll do with the offspring you produce. some species or particular shades aren't to any extent further huge-spread particularly parts or communities. After that, you'll want to look after all of your kit (water bottles, and so on), feed source, cages (you'll want a minimum of four or more desirable), and choose the finest animals you'll locate, which must be from unrelated kin lines. Cages are major, for the reason that at the same time as hamster aren't to any extent further sleeping, eating or making more desirable hamsters, they attempt to stumble on a way out of the cage (this incorporates chewing and operating on a wheel) in the journey that your breeding inventory isn't of ideal age, and till they have been given ideal food for the longer time period, you'll have issues. no longer all hamsters devour their youthful, or kill one yet another. back, reliable study is major. ultimately, WHY do you what to reproduce? do not answer me, I only want you to really imagine about this one for your self. If some one is only breeding hamsters to make more desirable hamsters, then do not. If someone only throws some hamsters at the same time in a closet to have them make more desirable hamsters they are not a breeder, they are only a multiplier. authentic breeders have set criteria and objectives, and carry themselves to a very intense degree of ethics. We paintings to maintain and strengthen the lines and criteria we are engaged on. Culling and re-adjusting the bar is major, as well as demanding evaluation of the end results of a breeding application. supply this a real and honest interest before breeding hamsters, or any type of animal. Please e mail me privately in case you want more desirable documents. I under no circumstances opt to renounce someone from operating in route of being a real and honest breeder, yet I also sense those that only opt to multiply don't have any room in the puppy activity. did you already know a thanks to finally end up with $2 hundred funds from elevating hamsters?!?!?!? start up out with $500!~

i got 2 chinese hamsters last year, they seem fine and they're as small as dwarves, have cute eyes, and are very friendly if you treat them well. I did have to split them up though, and they get really bad if i put them together.

Try teddy bear hamsters. They're small, fluffy, and very affectionate.
