Im in the new orleans area as of now (born and raised in atlanta though).
i think you all should come here for a visit, when here, get a guide to take you to bourbon street and canal street so you can see how filthy the french quarter is, and how much horse feces litters the streets there. you will also get to see how crazy the drunk people act in the french quarter. take a look at the nude billboards that are on bourbon, so that you will feels as if your in a european city.
also remember to take a stop at the 9th ward to pay respects to all the poor people in the city....then take a trip Uptown to the 3rd ward and visit the Calliope housing projects and the Magnolia Housing projects. look in awe at how ugly and run down the inner city of new orleans is, and i know it is this way because i have been in magnolia projects before.
then look at the news here and see how many people die each day in the city, and how much police brutality and crooked cops there are.
So come on down!

Aaron

I used to go to New Orleans just about every year. Because i live in Mississippi and it ain't nothing but like a short trip over the bridge to get there. But i haven't been after Katrina hit. But i did go a week or two before she hit but now i don't know i don't think i can go back its not because of wat you said its because its nothing there its just not the same. I can't go there and pretend like everythings ok everythings back to normal i can't go there with out picturing dead bodies floating and stuff. And to be honest i didn't know how bad off New Orleans was until about three weeks after Katrina and it hurt me so bad because i loved New Orleans and to see it in ruins it looked like a third world country. I can't come for a long time because i can't come there and c New Orleans like that.

everyone seems to be so worried about the victims of poverty and distress in other countries. as americans all we have to do is look around our own neighborhoods and see the same.
as for crooked cops, they're everywhere. a friend asked a "higher up" in the criminal justice system about the requirements to make a good cop. and i quote, "they look for dumb aggressive males.".
i've never been to LA. but i have a friend from lake charles. maybe it's time for a trip to reality!
