the response is a scam, usually they try to sound as much like a real pet person as possible but there is always tell tale signs such as would like to know last asking price of pet,and almost always the add response sounds impersonal they almost never refer to your pet as a he or she the response is usually referring to your pet as your animal or said pet the wording also sounds a bit off sort of like person had english as second language and doesn't quite know how to write complete sentences or something can't explain it but wording is off somehow, they will go through the whole don't worry about pick up of pet as they have an "agent" nearby who can pick up the pet, if you go any further and respond to this person they will offer you more money for your pet than asking price usually in a cashiers check, then will ask you to cash the huge check take your asking price for your pet and "trust" you to send the balance back to them most nice people would do this, the scam here is that the check is a really really good fake and a lot of banks think it is real, once you cash the check it is found to be a bad check you are left paying the bank back for the total of the bad check plus all the other added expenses of the bank and these people who scammed you have made a lot of money off you,it was done to a friend of mine selling a horse, she cashed a $4000 dollar check for her $1500 horse sent them the balance back and it was a fake check she had to pay all that money back to the bank usually on most websites were you can sell something there are scam warnings PLEASE READ them, they come out with new scams everyday and are getting smarter in their wording it is harder to recognize them,i raise and sell dogs i get one or two of these (at least ) every time i advertize DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS PERSON

This is a scam, tell them you are not interested and the pet will be only for adoption with in the local area and you must meet the new potential adopter.
Its sad there are so many scams out there now.

I listed a cat for adoption once, and a guy called asking me how much it weighed... Turns out there's a market for cats (and probably other animals) for laboratory research.
Now, I always require a small fee before adoption and meeting the people is mandatory.

This is called a "socially engineered" email prank. It is seemingly custom written to respond to your ad and make you pay attention, yet its total bullsh**.
So, ignore any strangely worded requests like above-- as these are people with a lot of time to waste. :-) Greg
