its in the entertainment heading,but now it wont record anymore . I can open a file and play back what iv recorded before but can no longer record. i play sax for fun and reord to put on my jazz sitw www.freewebs.com/tom9437/ can any of you computer buffs help thanks in advance

OK... the problem is you may have selected wrong audio input device. Double click on speaker sign on your taskbar, click- options, properties then recording- select appropriate input device. It should work now.

You need to understand that the free recorder you were using was a sort of demo on your system, you should find yourself a copy of nero 6/7 or any other legitimate sound recording programme and you should be fine. What is happening right now is that your recording buffer is full so it wont let you add any more files to it.

this gives instructions on recording analogue to CD...you must be using a microphone anyhow, so just ignore the stuff about a tape player as your mic. will be doing this job. You can get free software at http://www.cassette2cd.co.uk/downloads.php
Obviously once the sound files are on your PC you don't have to do the step to burn them onto a CD...
