Listening to the heartbeat every visit is something I would expect, and they should be checking your urine, not for iron, but for protein. High protein levels in the urine can be an early indicator of pre-eclampsia. Talk to them about it, and if you don't think you're getting the best care possible, switch doctors. Prenatal health is too important a thing to mess around with.

Yes, I believe so. My Dr. does at every visit. I also have to pee in a cup at every visit. . I would ask them what it up, and if they don't give you a reasonable answer I would be looking for another Dr. They do these things every time to make sure you and the baby are doing well. After all in the first two trimesters you only go every 4 weeks. That's a long time not to be checked up on. Hope this helps. Good luck.

So if i was u i would speak with him first if u still are uneasy or if he is just not working out for you find another OBGYN that u feel is better qualified Good Luck and have a safe and happy pregnancy and remember NO STRESS !!!

I am with a different doctor this time too due to a move. He didn't listen at 12 weeks, but I am going back today and going to ask for it. I am thinking of buying a doppler 'baby sounds' is supposed to be the best one for picking up heartbeats at home, the other ones don't work till 7 months I heard

Every doctor has their own way of doing things. I would take your concerns to either the doctor or maybe start with the nurse next time you are there. If you are feeling fine and the results came back as being in the appropriate range for the iron test they probably won't check it every time you are there. Always ask the questions that you have. don't leave feeling uncomfortable.

I have to pee in a cup, get weighed, take my blood pressure and get the heartbeat listened to on every visit (in that order). Sometimes the Dr listens and sometimes a nurse does it, I think it just depends on how busy the office is that day.

I get both the pee in cup, and listen to heart beat. Each time. I would suggest that you ask and mabey push to get all the testing done each time. This is a way to learn of early problems, like infection. Or stress on the baby. I would ask to have it done each time, or switch doctors. good luck and congrats.

At my prenatal visits the nurse always listened to the heartbeat the dr never did. The only thing the dr did was measure me and in later appointments check my cervix other than talk to me.

Every pre-natal visit they should check your urine, blood pressure, weight, listen for the baby's heart beat and then you can talk about any questions or concerns you may have.
