How about a gift card for somewhere that sells maternity clothes? She's going to need them!

I know a gift card sounds a little impersonal, but at least she'll be able to buy something she likes / is her style. How about a nice fluffy scarf? My sister-in-law gave me a scarf for my first Christmas with the family, and I still wear it.
Christmas ornaments are a nice idea, too, particularly the kind that says the year on it, or can hold a picture. It'll be a nice remembrance every Christmas about the time you all first met.
Does she have a hobby or collect anything in particular?
Do you have anything of your son's from when he was a child? Like a silver rattle, or first spoon/fork set, that you'd be willing to part with? You could give it to her for the baby. I think that would be a wonderful, loving gesture that you're welcoming her into the family. I felt very special when my boyfriend's mother gave me his first piggy bank that she'd been holding onto.
Good Luck. And Happy Holidays!

Best bet ask your son, what she likes. Then go from there. Or, a gift card that would suit her and the baby together. As never meeting each other, you will both probably be nervous and curious and the last thing on her mind will be what she is getting, anything at this point would be appropriate (within reason) and Congrats, grandparents!

It's probably best to get her something for the new baby. Clothes in a neutral color, such as green and yellow work best, especially if you don't know whether she's having a boy or girl. Don't waste your time buying the 0-3 months clothes for the baby. They usually outgrow them in about 3 weeks. Instead, buy clothes in the 3-6 month sizes, as the baby will grow into them rapidly. Also, one piece pants/shirts (onesies) are always useful. Consider buying 10-15, as they are inexpensive, and get dirty quickly. Make sure the buttons are at the bottoms on those, as they are easier to change than ones with the buttons on the front. Good luck to you and congratulations on the new additions to your family.

I know you must be excited to be becoming grandparents! Get her something nice for herself. An American Express gift certificate is always nice. She can buy maternity clothes, etc. with it. But I'd also get her something nice to open. Some pretty gold earrings? If she is more than 5 months pregnant, you might get something for the future baby, too. A crib? Changing table? Rocking chair? Infant seat for car trips to visit you?

Get her a combo gift! Get something for her with something for the new baby.
My favorite is to put gift baskets together...buy things that she likes or may want. candles, body lotions, maybe a gift card to her favorite store..or even one of those American Express gift cards that way she can use it where ever. I wouldn't get jewelry though, some girls are very particular about that.
then in the same basket get something she can use for the baby or herself during the pregnancy....pregnancy book, soothing music CD's, cocoa butter lotion (for the stretch marks..lol) gift card to a baby store
maybe get a basket with handles so that after the baby is born she can put baby stuff in it and be able to carry the things she needs from one spot to another with ease
