I find that something always goes wrong with non-stick pans (scratches, etc), so here's what I do. I buy one or two "all purpose" mid-weight but not terribly expensive pans ($30-50 each) and then one or two light-weight pans that I use just for eggs, crepes, etc- things that really need the highest level of non-stickness. The light weight pans are basically disposable; as soon as they're not "slippery" anymore, I get rid of them. The mid-weight pans will last for a lot longer, but when and if they do get damaged, I just replace them, too.

I would reccomend Circulon. They are anodized and do not cost as much as other sets. I have had my set for 3 years and they look new. I used T-Fal in the past and they do not stand up well.

I have used the cheapest and the most expensive, and I have found that more important than the brand is the care you give it. Especially important is using the right utensils. They should be the soft plastic kind, NEVER metal. It will RUIN the pan.

After many many years of cooking, I found that it is easier to just buy inexpensive teflon and then you don't have to be so careful and when they get scratched, throw them away. I am usually very conservative and don't waste money, but somebody in my house always forgets and uses a metal spoon or egg turner on the teflon so I just quit complaining and buy cheap ones.
