Hello,
The gulf stream is extremely important to life here in the UK, why? because the gulf stream is a current of warm water that flows through the Atlantic ocean, upwards from South America traversing the ocean & ending up close to our shores. The effect of gluf stream means we have a much warmer & milder climate than if the gulf stream didnt exsist.
Thats why places on the west coast of Ireland, The North Western coast of Northern Ireland, West Coast of Scotland, The Herbradian Islands & Northnern tip of Scotland have a climate that is several degree's warmer.
The Gulf stream also brings water that is more salt ladden to our coast (The so called Saline Esculator), the flow of salt between one ocean and another is in part responsible for driving our entire wheather system. It is a pretty complex subject actually and very fascinating too.
The UK would have a MUCH colder climate if it were not for the effects of the gulf stream around our shores. The Gulf Stream is actually vital to the wheather & climate of the UK.

because it is what keeps the uk so warm, if you look we are on the same latitude as russia, but much much warmer. The gulf stream is what makes that happen.

It is one of the main ocean currents in the world. It determines what a lot of sea life do, as well. The Gulf Stream also determines where hurricanes go sometimes.

The heat that the gulf stream carries help to make the UK much warmer than it would be without it. If not for this our winters would be as harsh as those in Moscow. Many crops we grow would not be possible.

The gulf stream keeps our country warm (warmer than it would be withotu it) it gently warms up the south of england. With out it the country would freeze like Poland and other areas. Thats why we need to protect our world from global warming!!

Our latitude is the same as northern Russia's, with out the Gulf stream we'd have their climate!

i may be wrong but it brings us warm air from the equator.
if the polar ice caps melted and diluted down the salt in the stream it would stop moving and we would go into an ice age pretty quick!

It helps palm tress grow as far north as the western Isles of Scotland.

Without it I would have to deal with the hoi-polloi on scheduled flights.
