Software is loaded,but it won't let me download songs

You can only upload and download songs that are from your computer. Example- if I connect my IPod to a friends computer I can upload songs but cannot go back to my computer and download them into mine. If you do find out a way to do this I would love to know.

Is your computer recognizing your ipod?
I had this problem too, and took mine to the Apple store. They said that sometimes your antivirus program would pick up your ipod before it showed up, so to deactivate the antivirus before hooking your ipod to your computer. I tried it and it worked. Make sure you reactivate the antivirus when you finish!!!
