I say yes.

That question has been the subject of protracted debate among me and my Persian friends.

Some Persian's are of a distinct Arab extraction and appear quite dark of complection.

Others are whiter than I am -- and my legs can light the inside of caves.

Yes Iranians and Middle Easterners are ALL White Caucasian - which is based on a bone structure - not skin color.
Many Jews and Christians are in Iran - but U.S. media fails to inform 'Mericans on that.

They are persians, but their skin complexion,(especially the lites) leans towards white people..in a way they are, but there are light skin iranians just as there are dark skined iranians

However there is no such thing as race..the color of your skin as to do with climate

They are of the Caucasian "race." They MAY have a slightly darker skin tone, but that alone does not determine "race." Merry Christmas.

They're three, and only three, races (stocks) of human beings. Caucasoid (White), Mongoloid (Yellow), and ******* (Black). Iranians, as well as all mid-easterners, are of the Caucasoid race. Now, that's an indisputable fact. They are White!

They are not Europeans, if that's what you mean. They are ethnically Persians. Some are light skinned and some are dark skinned. The Middle East has long been at the cross roads of the continents and there has been constant immigration and ethnic intermixture for thousands of years. The idea that Iranians must be placed into one racial category or another is itself unsound, as are notions that strict racial categories are anything other than social constructs.

Contrary to the assertion of one of the writers above, the notion that there are three distinct races or "stocks" of humans is a fallacy dating back to the days of pseudo scientific race theories. It's amazing how many people still quote those theories as if they were scientifically valid.
