on the doppler, you should be able to find it, although not always. Sometimes the baby is laying inward and too close to teh placenta and you cant hear anything until around 13 weeks.
but generally, just about always you can totally hear something with a doppler at 11 weeks. It just might take a lot of time to find it.
My doctor had a heck of a time from 12-18 weeks. Little guy just was laying weird.

Sometimes...if you are a small person and not overweight sometimes you can hear the heartbeat at the Dr's office with the doppler.

Yes...you should be able to...but not always. Usually by then, if the doc can't find the heartbeat then they will do an ultrasound (usually intravaginally) and you will be able to see AND hear it then.
Good luck and Congrats!

you should be able to hear it with a doppler by 11 weeks but it really does depend on how the baby is positioned in the uterus

My doctor told me that you have to wait until 20wks to hear a definite heartbeat, so I'm really not sure.

In some you can but my doctor said that it is too early to expect to. They tried at my last appointment when I was 11wks to the day and heard nothing.
