He will enjoy reading and have an intellectual curiosity so he will read the national security assessment, the next president will read the intelligence reports, the next president will read the papers on the economic outlook of this country, the next president will want to learn to make the best decision rather than relying on his gut that has been contaminated with years of drinking.

Nope, to elect the opposite would require that somebody other than a Democrap or Repugnican be elected. Bush is corrupt, there exists no honest cantidate in either party. Bush self promotes. What member of either party doesn't? Bush is not aggressive nor mild. So there cannot be an opposite in those areas. Bush is not decisive nor is he indecisive. So again no way to find an opposite. Bush is actually rather moderate in almost all behavior. That has been a key to his success. The lack of character means it he is inoffensive to people. He is hated because of the polarization between parties. You could substitute any politician's name for Bush and the reaction would be the same. No Repugnican could escape the same levels of disgust and criticism that followed the Clinton and Bush administrations.

The amazing thing is people have already forgotten how universally despised Clinton was in such a short time. The same will happen with Bush. In 08 we will have a new person to hate. A name to put to our disgust with the insanity that has become our system of government. The farce that is Democracy only in name today.

The next U.S. President may or may not be an opposite of Bush. It depends upon who winds up being elected in the autumn of 2008, whether he/she is a Democrat or a Republican and what his/her views are on a variety of issues.

Very very few, actually.

It is unlikely we will elect someone who will radically change American policy and laws, because the international community and even domestic issues count heavily on stability. If we experienced a lot of "opposite" admnistrations, foreign policy, investment and business decisions would grind to a halt, as people woould learn to simply wait for a new administration. As a result, Barack or Rudy or whoever we get as new President, is not going to radically change anything.

Anti War, More taxes, More money for education grants, Medicare reform, Non-Christian, Supports abortion, Supports Stem-Cell research....

Just some differences that the President-to-be will have compared to President Bush.

Some pro's and con's from that list above for me personally.

No one will be 100% happy with the man in office, unless you're blind to reality or don't think for yourself.

I think theh next President will fight harder for popularity. And have better communication skills. Seriously, much more people would understand Bush and where he is coming from if he would explain himself a little better.

He or she will be normally intelligent, have at least a modest understanding of the rest of the world, and will not smirk upon saying something about people being killed that s/he considers clever. And, finally, that person will have a clear and accurate command of the English language, and will neither talk nor act like the village idiot in the face of the rest of the civilized world.

the difference will be his or her political rants and hollow promises, then once in office, not live up to them or fulfill them. Just like all others, learn the political game in order to live peacefully.
